Co-Designing with Older Adults
Directed Research Group

Research: UW Human Centered Design & Engineering DRG

Work Type: UX Research, Design, Co-Designing
I worked in a research group of 10 HCDE students to conduct 6 co-design sessions with older adults to prototype a mobile application that can help track and improve health care for older adults. I helped guide my team members through the design process and taught them how to use the User-Centered Design Process. This can enable them to help me design the application and involve the target audience to eliminate any biases.

After the co-design sessions were complete, we analyzed videos and other documents from those sessions, using analytical coding to determine common themes discovered in the co-design sessions.

Bellhapp
Excellence in Service

Internship: Bellhapp

Work Type: Usability Intern, Mobile UX Design, and Desktop UX Design
As a Usability Intern for Bellhapp, I conducted usability tests and held focus groups to get feedback on Bellhapp’s web and mobile application. Based on that feedback and analysis of my research, I presented a variety of strategic and innovative design recommendations to cross-functional teams. To develop my previous work, I made high-fidelity wireframes in Figma. I explored many different screens and gathered feedback from my coworkers and users to help determine the best wireframes that reflected the needs and desires of the users. Using these wireframes, I made an interactive mockup in InVision to conduct A/B testing, which showed a positive increase of 17% in user interactions. This major increase in interactions allowed Bellhapp to reach significantly more users by increasing the application’s accessibility and usability.

Due to a NDA with Bellhapp, I cannot provide any examples of my work.
